What goes on a solar module RFID tag

Exact fields depend on the tender specification, but typically include:

• Module manufacturer name and unique serial number
• Month and year of manufacture of the module and the cells, and the cell manufacturer
• Rated power (Wp), Imp, Vmp, Isc, Voc and fill factor from the I-V curve
• Certification details (e.g. IEC test lab and date)

Why special RFID labels are needed

• Lamination heat: the label goes into the EVA / backsheet stack and must survive the laminator cycle (around 150°C) without delamination or chip damage.
• Read through glass: antenna design and placement are chosen so the tag reads reliably from the front or back of the finished module.
• 25+ year life: materials are selected to stay stable under UV, humidity and temperature cycling inside the laminate.
