The last digit of every EAN / UPC is calculated from the others. A wrong check digit means a typing error or an invalid barcode that will not scan at retail.
The first 3 digits show which GS1 member organisation issued the number - 890 is GS1 India. It tells you where the company registered, not where the product was made.
"Verified by GS1" shows the company the GS1 prefix is licensed to. If it shows another company or nothing, the barcode is not yours - retailers may reject it.

Resold numbers are registered to someone else, so they fail "Verified by GS1" checks. Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance, DMart, export buyers and modern retail chains increasingly reject them. Register directly with GS1 India so the company prefix is in your own name.
